Situated on a private wooded lot, this home at 8354 Twin Pointe in Geist has some of the best features you’ll find in a home. Mr. Seller has a concrete background and was able to finish the stairs to the basement and the basement floors in a stained concrete that is stunning. He also created a walkway to the home that is inviting and long lasting. Mrs. Seller is a professional decorative and mural painter. While there aren’t any rooms in the home with murals, she is offering to paint one of those rooms for the buyer AND the buyer’s agent as an incentive. She typically paints children’s rooms but has also done doctor’s offices too. She sent me quite a few pictures and I picked this one; let me know if you’d like to see more!

Farmers Markets near Geist Reservoir

There are so many great reasons to visit a Farmer’s Market including supporting your community (specifically the farmers), helping the environment and getting fresh food!

Here is a quick list of Farmer’s Market locations near the Geist area:

Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 8115 Oaklandon Road every Thursday from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Saxony Market on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 13578 East 131st Street. There will be live music on Saturday June 4th!
Go Green Farmers Market at Lawrence United Methodist Church located at 5200 N Shadeland on Wednesdays from 4-7 p.m.
Abundant Life Church at 7706 E 82nd on Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
Fishers has there Farmer’s Market at the Municipal Building area on Saturday mornings as well.

Lots of great fresh fruit, vegetables and sweet things too!

Eddy’s Sports Pub in Geist

I have given you quite a few Geist Real Estate posts, so thought I would switch gears a bit and talk about a great restaurant near the Marina…Eddy’s Neighborhood Bar and Grill. It has been nominated as one of the Best Neighborhood Bars in town.

The menu includes Spinach Artichoke Dip, Bacon-Wrapped Scallops, and Jalapeno’ Chicken Strips among other items. Sandwiches include a Homestyle Sloppy Joe, Reuben or Brisket among others. Lots of salads and entree’s too!

I was there for lunch recently and the food was excellent and so was the service (they kept my water glass full which to me is a good indicator)! It is an upscale restauant with a casual atmosphere.

Prices are very reasonable and there are so many choices!

They also have Daily Specials; for example a Bluegill Filet Basket on Saturday!

Located in the Marina area and with outdoor seating, it is the perfect place to relax after boating with dinner and drinks. Check out Eddy’s in Geist, tell them your Geist Realtor sent you!

The Bakery at Geist on Oaklandon

If you live in Windsong, Feather Cove 3 or the Admirals, you have a new bakery to walk to! The Bakery at Geist opened on November 8th. Ron Woods, the Chef, says he picked that area because bikes and walkers as well as automobiles have easy access to great baked goods. Did you know that Chef Ron has a degree in Chemistry! There is no question the ingredients are measured perfectly to create the best tasting baked goods!

You can find lots of freshed baked breads including Focaccia, Baguettes, and Raisin Bread among others. A trip to their display case shows cookies and pastries and yummy pies and cakes. The Bakery at Geist menu is mouth watering and the smells are fabulous!

The Bakery at Geist can also create your wedding or birthday cake and also has European styled pastries in their menu.

And of course cupcakes, the most popular pastry on the planet currently! The cupcakes are $2.75 for the large ones, $2.00 for the small and if you want them filled (and who wouldn’t), they are $2.95.

The shop is set up with seating and you can actually watch the bakers performing their craft.

And on your way out, pick up some delightful dinner rolls for dinner! Hours are 6:30AM – 5:00PM M-F and 7:30AM to 4:00PM on Saturday and 7:30AM – 1:00PM on Sundays.

Chef Suzanne in Geist

Tucked away in the Fort Ben area of Geist Real Estate is a Chef that is becoming very well known! Chef Suzanne launched her new business in April of 2009 and has become very successful. Chef Suzanne is on my BNI group and as a result, I am able to sample many of her lunch menu items.

I have personally had Chef Suzanne cater several events for me too. The appetizer menu is fabulous. I have tried the wheel of brie with cranberries and fresh sage wrapped in a puff pastry and the goat cheese apricot terrine! My clients who were at these events raved about Chef Suzanne.

She has her new Winter 2010 menu out as well, with Pizza Casserole, Chicken Pot Pie and a Shepperds Pie!

She can do anything as simple as a backyard barbecue all the way to a Black Tie event. Be sure to check out her for all of your holiday events!

Geist Realtor highlights Bella Vita

As Spring approaches, many Geist residents will want to dine outside; there are many options for that. One of my favorites is Bella Vita‘s in the Geist area. It is located on 11699 Fall Creek Road at the Marina. You can dine inside or outside and get a great view of the Geist Reservoir.

Bella Vita was established on March 5, 1998 by Henri and Shelley Najem.

Starting on April 15th, they are now serving Lunch everyday from 11-4 PM and Dinner is Sunday through Thursday from 4-10 PM and Friday and Saturday from 4-11 PM. They also have breakfast on Sundays with live jazz. You can make reservations at 598-9011.

The Bella Vita menu is superb with wonderful crab cakes, Ravioli Pomodoro or their filet mignon; if you can’t decide just order the Taste of Bella Vita!

The mezzanine lounge has a full bar and appetizer menu and has live music.

We visited for Mother’s Day for their brunch and it was so fabulous. The decor, the atmosphere, the views, the service and the food all combine for a totally perfect dining experience.

I think one of the best part of dining at Bella Vita is the water views of Geist Reservoir; watching the boats come in and go across the waters. It is so relaxing for me.

Their are many great restaurants for the Geist Real Estate residents to visit, Bella Vita just happened to be the one I wanted to feature first. Living in Lawrence Township allows me to the a local expert on the sights, sounds and the real estate market and I am really looking forward to sharing that with all of my readers.
